Nigel is Clinical Director of Benfleet Physiotherapy, a multi-disciplinary clinic, leading a team of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapists, Neurological Physiotherapist, Sports Injury Scientists, Gym and Rehabilitation Staff.
Nigel has been a Physiotherapist for over 25 years. He is a State Registered Physiotherapist, registered with the Health Professions Council (PH 75875). He is also a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP078202), M.C.S.P.I.N (Member of Chartered Society of Physiotherapists Interests in Neurology).
Nigel has been a Physiotherapist for: Great Britain Athletics Team, Great Britain Triathlon Team, Woodford Green A.C. Havering Mayesbrook A.C. Masters Performing Arts College, pupils of The Roral Ballet, Elmhurst School of dance, Italia Conte, Rochford R.F.C. Canvey Island R.F.C. Southend Sabres A.F.C. Essex Roads C.C. Borough of Southend S.C. East Essex Triathlon Club and has treated and advised numerous Olympic Athletes and Professional Footballers.
For the past 10 years Nigel has developed a stong neurological domicilary (home vist) practise. Specialising in treatment and rahabilitation of Multiple Sclerosis (M.S.), Parkinsons Disease, Spinal Injury, Head Injury (T.B.I) and strokes using state of the art treatment; F.E.S. (Functional Electrical Stimulation), Saebo Orthotics, (Saebo Stretch, Saebo Flex, Saebo Reach), N.E.T. (Neuromuscular Energising Therapy), and Hrdrotherapy.
Nigels specific interests include tailoring individual programs for people suffering with Neurological problems (Stroke, Head Injury, Spinal Injury, M.S. Parkinsons) using cutting edge technology to assist with recovery and rehabilitation.
Nigel competed for Woodford Green A.C. in the British League winning numerous county and area titles, and for Santa Monica T.C. in Los Angeles . U.S.A.(400/800/1500 pbs of 49, 1.49, 3.43). Upon retirement from track due to injury he commenced in Triathlon, progressing to compete for Great Britain at Olympic distance at World Champs in Wellington, New Zealand in 1994, Lausanne, Switzerland in 1998, Montreal, Canada in 1999, World Du-Athlon Champs in Hobart, Tasmania , Australia in 1994 and European Champs in Madeira, Portugal in 1999.

Terri Kimpton, receptionist, will be your first contact at Benfleet Physiotherapy Limited.
Kamal is a member of the CSP, HPC and the Indian Association of Physiotherapists and has been working with Benfleet Physiotherapy. He obtained his Bachelor of Physiotherapy from The University of Mangalore, India in 1999 and since then has accrued a vast experience in the disciplines of physiotherapy. Kamal has worked in various locations and settings throughout his professional career including St. Andrews Hospital in Newham London and Bombay Hospital & Medical Research Centre in Bombay, India.
Kamal has attended many courses and seminars throughout his career including -

Kamal has a particular interest in Musculoskeletal injuries and also the rehabilitation of those with Cardio-Respiratory and Neurological Impairment.
Scott has been with us since 2008. He obtained an Upper Second Class Honours degree in Sports Therapy, Health & Fitness from the University of Kent. He is currently undertaking a BSc in physiotherapy at University of Essex.
Scott is also a qualified gym instructor with a level 2 YMCA. Scott works closely with Masters, a local dance and performing arts school. At this venue Scott runs a weekly injury clinic to assess and treat dancers.
Scott has also worked with Canvey Island RFC and Canvey Island Football Club.
He is interested in all areas of physiotherapy, however is specifically interested in the functional sports specific rehabilitation of sports based injuries. In his spare time Scott is a keen footballer, and a general fitness enthusiast. He also enjoys sailing and currently holds a Qualification as an assistant sailing instructor with the Royal Yachting Association (RYA).
Joe is another member of our multidisciplinary treating team. He has a Sports Therapy degree and holds BTEC in Sports Science and has been with us since 2008. Joe is a keen swimmer and coach who has competed at Great Britain standard, and has also represented the British Colleges. He also has a passion for rugby and has represented the British Colleges Team while at University of Kent.
His specific interests in the gym include instructing those who wish to increase muscle mass, muscle endurance, circuit training and all round fitness.
Joe also provides and oversees specific rehabilitation programmes for a variety of general and sporting injuries.
Jemma is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP), the Health Professional Council (HCP), the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Therapeutic Riding (ACPTR) and the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Animal Therapy (ACPAT). Before becoming a physiotherapist Jemma competed as a Professional Showjumper and was a member of the under 21 British Team, competing at national and international level. Now retired she still has a keen interest in horse riding, the riding for the disabled (RDA) and riding biomechanics and posture.

For the pasts few years Jemma has restarted her past love of netball, playing in a regular team, in a local league and treating team members and court side injuries.
Jemma is interested in all aspects of rehabilitation, especially muscleoskeltal, horse riding and sporting injuries.
Matt is a REPs registered gym instructor, holding a YMCA Level 2 gym instructor qualification. He also obtained an HND in Sports Studies and a BTEC National Diploma in Sports Science. Matt has worked at Benfleet Sports and Fitness since 2006. A keen gym, sports and fitness enthusiast himself, Matt oversees all aspects of fitness training from strength and conditioning to bodybuilding, sports specific training to general fitness, weight loss, and also rehabilitation of injuries and illness.
Matts main interests include football, boxing, weight training and sports nutrition.
Liam is a Member of the Mixed Martial Arts Conditioning Association and is currently undertaking the British Weightlifting Association assistant coach training programme. Among his many qualifications are -

Shelley takes pride in the opportunity to work with clients of different fitness levels. Shelley is currently studying for Level 4 in Cardiac Rehabilitation which should be completed by mid 2010.
